Alpha Course

What is Alpha?
The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It’s relaxed, non-threatening, low key, friendly and fun. There are light bites together at the beginning of each session which provide the chance to get to know each other. Alpha is a place where everyone can make an equal contribution. Any question can be asked, and no question is too simple or too hostile.

Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone, especially:

  • Those wanting to investigate Christianity.
  • Those wanting to discuss real life issues.
  • Those who are looking for their life’s purpose.
  • Those who are willing to share their life experiences.

The Alpha course starts with the ‘Try Alpha’ Supper. This is a relaxed event, where anyone can come and see what the Alpha Course involves. There is no obligation and attending the supper does not oblige you to complete the Alpha Course if it is not right for you. After the ‘Try Alpha’ Supper the course lasts for nine weeks.

Sunday Mornings – “Spring 2019”
Jan 27 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

During the spring term, we’ll be joining the Apostle Paul on his “Journeying with Jesus”, as we read through and share the incredible stories of Paul’s missionary journeys recorded in the book of Acts.

Over the course of 15 weeks (with a short break to celebrate Easter!), we’ll be thinking about Paul’s commitment to his God-given task of sharing the Good News about Jesus, despite all kinds of obstacles and upsets, and we’ll be marvelling and worshipping as we hear the many stories of how God protected Paul and kept him safe throughout his journey.

The Sunday morning programme for the coming few months looks like this:

20th Jan – Set aside and sent (Acts 13:1-12)
27th Jan – Salvation to the ends of the earth (Acts 13:13-52)
3rd Feb – The gods have come down to us! (Acts 14)
10th Feb – Saved by grace (Acts 15:1-35)
17th Feb – Europe calling (Acts 15:36-16:10)
24th Feb – Jail break! (Acts 16:11-40)
3rd Mar – Gospel going viral (Acts 17)
10th Mar – I have many people in this city (Acts 18)
17th Mar – Where does the power come from? (Acts 19:1-22)
24th Mar – Looking after God’s people (Acts 20:13-38)
31st Mar – Facing the trials of life (Acts 21:1-22:29)
7th Apr – God is always in control (Acts 22:30-23:35)
14th Apr – When life feels like a shipwreck (Acts 27)
21st Apr – EASTER SUNDAY
28th Apr – When good news seems to fall on deaf ears (Acts 28)

You’re very welcome to join us at any (and all!) of our Sunday morning services – they start at 10:30am. We hope to see you then.
