Home groups make up an integral part of Thornhill Church. Each week, small groups of people meet together at homes throughout Thornhill and the surrounding area for the purposes of:
CARING – to provide a caring network where believers can feel supported in their Christian lives and when problems occur, to know they are supported both practically and in prayer. Each member is encouraged to develop caring relationships inside and outside the weekly meetings.
LEARNING – to learn from the Bible and to apply it to our lives, through a programme of studies and discussions that complement Sunday teaching. All members of home groups are encouraged to use and develop their spiritual gifts within the group, such as in leading Bible study, prayer, worship or serving.
WORSHIPPING – to provide an informal environment to pray and express our appreciation of God. Home groups provide an opportunity to worship in a small fellowship, in music, prayer and communion.
SERVING – to reach out with practical and spiritual help to the members of our group, the wider church and the community around us.
DISCIPLING – to nurture each other spiritually, to encourage each other to grow spiritually, to exercise our spiritual gifts and to serve Jesus, both inside and outside the fellowship.
