Sundays at Thornhill Church

At Thornhill Church, Sunday plays an important part in our development to become more like Jesus. We have a “morning service” that includes Tots Church, Junior Church and No Limits, and in the evening the “younger generation” meet together for a time of fellowship.

Sunday morning sees us gather together to celebrate what God the Father has done decisively in the past through his Son Jesus and what He is doing among us today by His Spirit.

Like everything we do at Thornhill, we try to make our Sunday gathering accessible, inventive and challenging to everyone, whether you have never stepped inside a church before, or whether you know your faith inside out. We sing songs as we worship God (mainly contemporary songs and some hymns), we read the Bible, pray and we receive teaching. Our teaching seeks to preach “Christ in all the Scriptures”, dealing at times with the whole Bible story at once, other times making individual Bible passages relevant to today.

Our services usually follow a theme for a few weeks at a time. More information can be found about our current Sunday morning series by clicking here.

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the last Sunday of each month. Sometimes we will share bread and wine every week for a little while or sometimes during a fellowship meal (like it was originally). Whatever we do, we like to make the most of this meal together that proclaims the Lord’s death until He comes! We would love for you to come and to be part of our family gathering, and you will also be made comfortable to just observe and take in what might be a new experience for you.

Services start at 10:30 a.m. and usually last about an hour and a quarter (longer when we have communion). You can rush off afterwards if you need to, or hang around and enjoy spending time with friends new and old.
