In Luke chapter 24, the Bible records the story of the time when two of Jesus’ disciples were walking towards the village of Emmaus. It was just after Jesus had been killed on the cross, and the two disciples were busy talking about the dramatic events of the previous few days, when Jesus himself came up and walked along with them. During their walk, Jesus spent some time explaining to the two disciples about how the Scriptures (the Old Testament part of the Bible) were full of stories and prophecies about Jesus, even though many were written thousands of years before his birth in Bethlehem.

During our Sunday morning services at the beginning of 2026, we’ll be spending some time thinking about some of those stories and prophecies “Concerning Himself”, and considering how the whole Bible is all about Jesus and God’s love for his creation.
