This is Jee Soo. He’s been attending Thornhill Church since 2010 and will be the face behind our café reception desk for the next few weeks. Come in and say 'Hi'!
Jee Soo says: “I would like to share a verse with you from Joshua chapter 1 verse 9. Joshua was called to take over from the great leader, Moses. God reassures Joshua that He would be with him, and encourages him to be strong.
Growing up in a Christian family, and naturally, following my parents to Church my whole life I was surrounded by many great examples and role models a bit like Joshua having Moses as a role model. Some of you may disagree but I think I’m quite advanced in my years and now and I have to take responsibility for my own faith journey. This could mean reading more of God’s word and living as the Bible tells me to, or praying more. I’m building more of a personal relationship with God now. This sort of independence can be a daunting thing like it was for Joshua, however, I am reminded that we should not be afraid or discouraged not because we are capable in ourselves but THE SAME GOD that was with Moses is also with Joshua and is also with US wherever we go.”
Our prayer, purpose and passion is for everyone to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
As a church we meet every Sunday 10:30am in our building, and in the week we have 12 home groups. We’ve served the community in various ways since the early 1980’s when Thornhill became an area, and currently run a full time nursery, community cafe, and much more.
