What's On?

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions in Wales, a ‘normal’ week at Thornhill Church looks very different at the moment!

Many of our regular small groups and activities are currently meeting online, or are ‘on pause’ for now. Some regular activities that are currently taking place are:

  • Sunday morning service – Sunday, 10:30am – a limited number are able to meet together in the building each week, while the rest of us can join online via the live stream on our YouTube channel. The Tots Church, Junior Church and No Limits groups are also meeting during these times, on a fortnightly basis.
  • Prayer meeting – Sunday, 6:00pm – a limited number are able to meet in the building, for a time of prayer and worship.
  • Small Groups – Wednesday, 7:30pm – some groups are able to meet together in the building, others meet together via Zoom.

Do get in touch if you’d like to know more about joining us at any of these times.

These are some of the groups and activities that we hope will be up-and-running again once lockdown restrictions ease:

  • Home groups – these are an integral part of Thornhill Church. Each week, small groups of people normally meet together at homes throughout Thornhill and the surrounding area for the purposes of caring, learning, worshipping, serving and discipling.
  • Tots ‘n’ Toys – lots of fun for all parents/carers and toddlers up to school age. Join the Tots ‘n’ Toys Facebook group for more information.
  • Bible Study & Care – normally meeting at the church building to enjoy a regular time of study, prayer and fellowship.
  • Meeting Point – a social gathering for over 50s and an opportunity to make new friends. A programme of guest speakers, quizzes and other items of interest is organised each week, and tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.
  • Community Bible Study (CBS) – open to everyone, men and women of all ages, who have a desire to learn what God says in the Bible and share their insights in a relaxed and caring environment over a cup of coffee. No previous knowledge of the Bible is necessary. Find out more at www.cbsuk.org.
  • Alpha Course – an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It’s relaxed, non-threatening, low key, friendly and fun.
  • Lifeline – a group for those struggling with a long term health problem. We support each other, share each other’s problems and look at what the Bible has to say to us about our situations.
  • First Time Mums – providing a place for mutual support in a safe, accepting environment. The group is here to help, encourage and offers a buddy system with other more experienced mothers.

Once lockdown restrictions begin to ease, we’ll add more details about these and all of our other activities so that you can more easily see what’s available.
